Star Wars Outlaws Counterfeit Credits Quest Walkthrough
Counterfeit Credits is one of those Star Wars Outlaws missions that can catch a player off guard. A Pyke member in the Pyke Cardroom in Mirogana City asks Kay to find out who is pushing fake credits into the market. The Empire tends to overreact, so the Pykes want the mess cleaned up before it draws the wrong kind of attention. This quest is not especially long, but it offers an interesting syndicate choice at the end. As of 2026, it remains a handy way to boost reputation early in the game.
Starting the Quest and Finding the Trader
After accepting the intel, the game points players toward a figure called the Market Trader. There is no need to wander through every stall. The fastest route is to visit Hen Puon's shop in the Mirogana Market district. Once Kay sells him any safe-to-sell valuable, she immediately notices that the credits he hands over are counterfeit. A short conversation later, Hen Puon reveals the source: a delivery dropped off at the Soup Kitchen. That location is not what it seems, and it becomes the next objective.
Getting Into the Soup Kitchen
The Soup Kitchen is a front for Crimson Dawn, located in the Crimson Dawn district north of the Mirogana Market. If Kay has a decent Crimson Dawn reputation, she can walk through the beaded curtain guarded by two thugs. If not, a vent near the Soup Kitchen sign offers a quieter route. Once inside, Kay should head to the main landing bay. This is a restricted area, so sticking to platforms and using Nix to distract guards is safer. In front of the large fan, there is a console with a lever. Have Nix hold the lever down, then move into the fan opening. A ladder leads down to an area just outside the Crimson Dawn vault. The crate at the end of the table holds the counterfeit credits, and interacting with it triggers the final decision.
The Choice: Pykes or Crimson Dawn?
Once the crate is opened, Kay has two options. She can return to the Pyke quest-giver and tell them the truth, or she can warn Eleera outside the Soup Kitchen that Crimson Dawn's operation has been exposed. This choice cannot be changed after it is made. However, neither option causes a reputation loss with the opposing syndicate.

Which Choice Is Better?
Most players will get more value from warning Crimson Dawn. A significant reputation boost opens up more of the district and can make future missions smoother. A small Pyke reputation gain can be replaced by completing a Pyke contract through any contract broker. Contracts are available on the Trailblazer, so 250 credits is not worth missing the larger Crimson Dawn reward. That said, players who are short on credits or already have high Crimson Dawn reputation might still choose the Pyke route without too much harm.
